Nachträge und Corrigenda zum Lexikon historischer Maltechniken (Supplements and Corrigenda to the Dictionary of Historical Painting Techniques)
With this supplement to his renowned "Lexikon historischer Maltechniken" (Dictionary of Historical Painting Techniques), Thomas Brachert presents a long-awaited expansion of his extensive collection of material on the history of art techniques from 2001. He was able to include additional historical sources as well as new research results from colleagues. This supplement will take its permanent place alongside the encyclopaedia, which in a short time has become the standard literature in conservation science.
Thomas Brachert is a trained carpenter and studied art history, art education, painting, conservation technology, archaeology and ethnology. Among other things, he was head of the department for technology and conservation (today: art technology) at the Swiss Institute for Art Studies and the Institute for Art Technology and Conservation at the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg.
