Scientific events are important to us in order to bring colleagues and young scientists into direct contact with each other, to expand our range of courses and to maintain close contact with professional practice.
Events
Due to lack of staff, events are only occasionally possible.
International Conferences
Our conferences provide an ideal platform for scientists and young researchers to present their research results. They also expand the range of courses offered to our students and sometimes offer new research perspectives.
The topics are very broad, ranging from the conservation of contemporary art to classical art historical topics such as St. Michael in Hildesheim and conservation science aspects such as "salts in cultural assets" to more engineering science issues such as "fire protection in museums and architectural monuments". What these conferences have in common is that they bring together speakers and guests from different disciplines.
25 Years Hornemann Institute
The HAWK celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Hornemann Institute on 9 November 2023 with a ceremony attended by 160 invited guests.
You can find the documentation of the ceremony here.
Hornemann Kolleg for Restoration and Monument Conservation
At the Hornemann Kolleg external colleagues and colleagues from conservation/restoration or related disciplines discuss their current projects in a relaxed atmosphere. The so-called Old Library in the courtyard of Brühl 20 in Hildesheim offers an attractive setting for this. The events are open to the public. Admission is free.
World Heritage Day
The next World Heritage Day will take place again on the first Sunday in June 2024.
