,,Our students enjoy the location and time independence of the Internet courses."
Kassandra Wirth M.Sc.

For more than 25 years we have been developing e-learning courses in the field of preservation of cultural assets according to the instructional design of the second generation in cooperation with teachers of the HAWK or external specialists.

  • The courses enable learners to learn in a largely self-organised manner, independent of time and place.
  • All courses are offered via HAWK's own "moodle" learning environment and are used both in teaching and in further education.
  • In accordance with the legal requirements in Lower Saxony, fees are charged for external students to the extent that the continuing education is cost-neutral. No profits are made.
  • Upon successful completion, participants receive a qualified certificate.

The German Association of Conservators recognises the courses as continuing education.

From the 2025/26 winter semester onwards, ECTS credits will be awarded as part of microcredentials for the first time. The pilot courses for this are "Mould and Documents" and "Conservation of Globes’". A microcredential is a short academic course that concludes with a digital certificate with ECTS credits from an accredited university. This allows you to demonstrate to your employers and customers that you have specialist knowledge in a specific subject area.
